This long vacation is a good time for family time and friends gathering. Have an outdoor activity (such as camping, hiking, mountaineering, fishing, etc) with some outdoor tools (such as tent, folding chair & camping table, outdoor firewood stove, etc) will definitely help us enjoy our holiday.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It holds great cultural and historical significance in Chinese tradition. The festival dates back over 3,000 years and is deeply rooted in legends and folklore.
The festival is primarily a time for family reunions, as people travel far distances to be together and enjoy each other's company. It is believed that during this festival, the moon is at its brightest and roundest, symbolizing harmony and unity. The moon serves as a powerful symbol of unity and connection, as family members gather outdoors to appreciate the full moon's beauty.
One of the most iconic traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the consumption of mooncakes. These round pastries filled with various sweet or savory fillings are symbols of completeness and unity. Sharing mooncakes with family and friends is a way to express gratitude and strengthen relationships.
Furthermore, the festival is associated with legends, primarily the story of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess, and the archer Houyi. Their tale embodies themes of love, sacrifice, and longing. In addition to mooncakes, other customs observed during the festival include lantern displays, dragon dances, and enjoying the sight of the full moon.
As we gather with family and friends to admire the bright full moon and share heartfelt wishes, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to you and your loved ones.
May this festival bring you happiness, togetherness, harmony, and a renewed sense of hope.
